Over the coming years we will be establishing a number of workshops to expand the range of Trevarno handmade products – we already have the herbal and soap and copper workshops, but more will be added at Home Farm. Within the Upper Walled garden we will be creating 4 planted areas, a Henry Doubleday heritage Seed Library garden, a herb garden, a Victorian cut flower garden and a decorative vegetable garden. Because we have a problem with rabbits and peacocks a netting scheme will be required. However, rather than use conventional cages we have decided to divide the 4 beds with a cross shaped pergola which will allow visitors to walk between the beds and will also provide a structure to support netting which we hope will look more attractive.
A discreet network of floodlights have been installed around the gardens and grounds as the first phase of a spectacular “son et lumieres” project. When complete, visitors will be able to experience transformations after dark which will provide several themed areas on a scale that will be unrivalled in this country.
